Post No Bills: Tanja in use

STENCILS | 28 MARCH 2016

Our neighborhood in New York is full of construction sites, so we had stencils laser-cut to see how Tanja would work in a more utilitarian setting. In spite of how delicate and nuanced its forms are, Tanja reacted well to being spray painted onto plywood. When we released Dala Prisma at the end of 2014, we printed posters and had them wheatpasted around the city. Most of them were torn down or painted over within hours. If you can't beat them, join them: we thought the phrase “POST NO BILLS” might last a little longer.

We were careful not to go overboard with the swash letters, though it was tempting.

It was interesting to see how the dots came across on different surfaces, from glossy paint, to painted-over posters.

RELEASES | 22 MARCH 2016

New release: Tanja
