With their 5th Anniversary issue, T, the New York Times Sunday style magazine, has unveiled their first complete redesign since the magazine was founded. In addition to selecting Lyon Text for body copy and Graphik for captions and informational copy senior art director Chris Martinez wanted to commission a truly unique new voice for their typographic palette: a hairline version of T's own Fraktur, which was designed for the magazine by Matthew Carter. The result was Karl, exquisitely crafted by Berton Hasebe for the exclusive use of T.
